Malware (Links Not Working)
Malware continues to plague a lot of computers. It can cause your computer to do strange things. Bidgunner has had several reports from users that say that malware that infected their users computers were causing problems during the checkout process on Bidgunner. Once the malware was removed, the problem disappeared. The errors presented themselves as links that wouldn't work.
There are several good free software packages available that will remove malware from your PC. Bidgunner does not endorse these products; however, we have had user reports that these have been successful in malware removal.
CAPTCHA and Birthdays - A lot of people have difficulty with registration. Be aware that if you ask for another CAPTCHA word, that the birthdate settings may change back to the default. If this happens, you will get a message saying that you are not old enough (you must be 21).
Email Verification - If unable to log in after setting up an account, make sure that you have responded to the verification email. After registration, and email is sent to you that contains a link that you must click to verify your email address. You must do this in order to activate your account. If you did not receive the verification email, please double check your SPAM folder (some email systems interpret our email as SPAM). Next step would be to contact customer support.
There are a lot of factors that can come into play when placing a bid. If you feel your bid isn't getting received in a timely manner, there are some things you can check:
- Always check that the Bidgunner "Connectivity" Meter is 100%
- Check that you have good connections to the internet. Use other well known web sites to test your connection.
- Check that you don't have a lot of other programs running simultaneously on your computer
- Check that you don't have any browser plugins running that could be affecting your bid submissions (deactive any suspect plug-ins)
These are just a few things that can be looked at when you are questioning the timinmg of placing bids. Remember that there are a lot of things that can happen on the Internet between you and Bidgunner's servers. Bidding with less than 2 seconds left on the bidding clock can be considered "risky".
